In particular, it will focus on the legal framework, including the recent instruments adopted under the New Pact on Migration and Asylum, and geopolitical dynamics shaping border control policies. Attention is devoted to the implications of EU deterrence policies for human rights protection and to their spillover effect on migration governance in Africa.
